Message from Police Chief David Honda

Police Chief Message

We are asking residents and business owners to follow this order so that we can keep officers from having to issue citations and to avoid any potential criminal charges or civil/administrative sanctions by the County.

And trust us, it’s the last thing we want to do during a public health emergency.

Our enforcement efforts begin with educating the community of what is expected of all of us; those efforts are already underway.  Residents and business owners will dictate the level of enforcement we take. As difficult as it may be, we ask that you please obey the shelter in place order.

Remember, it takes all our collective effort to help reduce the spread of this virus. Together, I am confident, we will overcome this public health crisis.

We have posted guidelines and frequently asked questions on all of our social media platforms.

Many still have questions and concerns and that’s okay. In addition to the City and County websites, there is information available to the public at the 2-1-1 website: 211santacruzcounty.org.
