[ARCHIVED] Red Curb Parking Enforcement Now in Effect

News2

Red curb painting has been installed adjacent to fire hydrants, curb ramps, and crosswalks in congested areas throughout the City to improve public safety. Please be advised that curbs painted in red indicate no stopping, standing or parking under any circumstances and are enforced 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

The City of Watsonville would like to advise residents that full parking enforcement has begun, so please be sure to obey parking restrictions indicated by posted signs, curb colors, or meters. Citations for red curb parking violations are $47.

Our Public Works & Utilities Department has started addressing some of the parking challenges in the more congested areas, which includes residential streets. Staff has begun installing red curbing in residential areas around town. The red curb painting will be installed adjacent to fire hydrants, adjacent to curb ramps and to crosswalks.

The first phase of this work has started in the areas of Clifford, Pennsylvania  and Main Street. This project is expected to take eight months to complete and the neighborhoods listed below will be included in the first round of curb painting. The approximate cost of the project is $30,000.
