On August 7th the Watsonville Police Department’s Neighborhood Services Division will be celebrating National Night Out and neighborhood unity against crime.
The goals of National Night Out are to increase crime and drug prevention awareness; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships. It’s expected that 20 neighborhoods throughout the City will host this event. Festivities include block parties, BBQ’s, DJ’s, activities for children and dance contests.
Local government representatives, police officers and city staff will attend the different events to talk with neighbors about ways to promote a safe healthy and environmentally friendly community. Fire department crews will also visit most of the sites on their fire engines
Registration is free to all interested groups who wish to participate.
