[ARCHIVED] WPD Cadet accepted to master’s degree program

CADET MEYER

Congratulations are in order for Watsonville Police Cadet Captain Katelyn Meyer who was recently accepted to San Jose State University’s Research and Experimental Psychology Master’s Program!

She began her journey as a cadet in 2015 and is currently serving her last year as a Captain for the program.

“The cadet program helped me gain confidence, discipline, leadership skills, supportive friends with similar interests and values, and gave me the opportunity to receive an inside look at law enforcement as a career,” said the 20-year-old Watsonville native. “I’m able to view things from another perspective - not many civilians get to have this type of close up view of what it’s like to be a police officer, and I learned about what makes the job hard, what makes it scary, and the traits a person needs to be a great police officer.”

We are extremely proud of your accomplishments, Katelyn! You have a bright future ahead of you.
