Airport Blvd. Reconstruction Project
The City of Watsonville is requesting bids for the Airport Blvd. Reconstruction Project. The project consists of: Mill existing pavement, reconstruction roadway, install new concrete pedestrian walkways and fill gaps in existing pedestrian facilities, upgrade existing ADA curb ramps, install conduit for future fiber optics and streetlights, new striping and signage, install new electrolier, erosion control, and traffic control. Deadline for bids is August 1, 2018 @ 11:00 a.m.

Ramsay Park Public Restrooms ADA Upgrades Project - Phase II
The City of Watsonville is requesting bids for the Ramsay Park Public Restrooms ADA Upgrades Project, Phase II. The project consists of rehabilitating and performing ADA upgrades to the existing public restrooms at Ramsay Park by the Soccer Central Facility. Proposed improvements includes but is not limited to: Roof replacement; plumbing fixtures replacement complete with waste and water lines; carpentry; concrete ramp, and foundation work; electrical; painting, flooring, and ADA parking striping and signage.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for July 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ramsay Park (back by Soccer Central Facility). Deadline for bids is August 28, 2018 @ 11:00 a.m. (addendum #1)

Green Valley Adaptive Traffic Control System
The City of Watsonville is currently advertising for Request for Proposals for the Green Valley Adaptive Traffic Control System. This project will include procurement and deployment of an Adaptive Traffic Control System with CCTV, network switches, and/or wireless communication. Deadline to submit RFPs is September 7, 2018 at 12:00 p.m.


Complete Streets to Schools Plans
The Complete Streets Plans will provide a systematic and comprehensive assessment and analysis of the greatest barriers to increased school-based sustainable transportation. Due Date: 7/20/18 - 5:00 p.m.

This project is funded through three separate Caltrans Planning Grants. See Grant Agreement below.

Construction Projects


The Engineering Division is responsible for public works construction projects for the city. These projects include new construction, improvements and renovations of public buildings, parks and recreation facilities, streets, traffic signals, street lights, wastewater collection system, water systems and storm systems. Public Works improvement projects in excess of $175,000 are subject to formal competitive sealed bidding.

New Public Works Contractor Registration Law (Sb854)


Beginning 2015-04-01, the City of Watsonville may only award public works projects to contractors and subcontractors that comply with the new Public Works Contractor Registration Law (SB 854). More information is available at the following links:

Contractors doing public works projects must register and meet requirements using the online application before bidding on public works contracts in California. The application also provides agencies that administer public works programs with a searchable database of qualified contractors.

Bid Information


The City of Watsonville uses eBidboard, a web-based bid management service, as an electronic plan room. Potential contractors, subcontractors and suppliers may view current projects, register as plan holders, view the plan holders list, download plans and specifications, receive addendum notices and obtain bid results. This information is available free of charge.
