Notice! November 8, 2022, General Municipal Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Watsonville, California, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the following offices:

COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR DISTRICTS 3, 4, 5, & 7

FOR FOUR (4) YEAR TERMS

The vote center will be open between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on Eleciton Day.

Early Voting Available Starting October 10, 2022!

The City of Watsonville will be offering early voting for County of Santa Cruz Residents beginning October 10, 2022, through November 8, 2022.

City Council Candidates

The purpose of the election is to elect City Council Members for the Watsonville City Council for full four-year terms for Council Districts 3, 4, 5, & 7.

In order to run for office, a candidate must have been a resident and a registered qualified voter in the City of Watsonville and of the district, they wish to represent for at least 30 days before the nomination period opens. The nomination period opens on July 18, 2022, and closes on August 12, 2022.

Candidate statements are available for public examination for 10 calendar days immediately following the filing deadline for submission of those documents. During this period, any voter of the appropriate City District, or the elections official, may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring any or all of the material in the statement to be amended or deleted.
