The City of Watsonville now has a composting program for residents who want to compost at home.

Composting is easy and beneficial to our environment; it helps save money, water, and other resources. Residents can qualify for a compost bin by following these steps:

  1. To qualify for a composting bin, you must have City of Watsonville garbage service.

  2. Attend a 20-minute drop-in workshop to learn how to compost properly at the City's Nature Center (30 Harkins Slough Rd.) on any Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

  3. Mail or drop-off your signed workshop voucher as proof to the City's Customer Service office (320 Harvest Drive, Watsonville, CA 95076) along with $10 to order your new compost bin.

  4. Compost bin will be delivered within a few days after the order is placed.

  5. Start Composting!

If you need help, visit or call the Nature Center (30 Harkins Slough Rd., 768-1622).
