Pinto Lake

Pinto Lake City Park is located at 451 Green Valley Road in Watsonville, CA. This lakeside park offers boating, fishing, picnic areas, a baseball diamond, volleyball court and an RV Park. You are welcomed to bring your own boat, raft, kayak, canoe or inflatable watercraft onto the lake, but you are subject to inspection and launch fees. The park consists of 78 acres, 70 of which are water and 8 are land.

Park Services
As of April 2017, the City of Watsonville, Parks & Community Services Department has assumed the oversight of the service operations at Pinto Lake Park and the RV Park.

Park Hours
Pinto Lake is open from sunrise to sunset, everyday. It is, however, subject to closures based on weather conditions (like flooding). Boating and RV hours are limited. Please see below.

Picnic Tables & Pavilion Reservation
You may reserve the Pavilion at Pinto Lake by contacting the Parks & Community Services Office (M-F 9-4). Picnic tables at Pinto Lake are available to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Boat Inspection & Fees
To prevent the infestation of Zebra and Quagga Mussels, every boat must be inspected and approved before being launched into the lake. Boaters can participate in our Banding Program to bypass a full inspection and save on fees. If you plan on launching a boat into the lake, you must have your boat inspected.

Boat Inspection Times

  • Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays --- 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Summer Boating Hours (March - September) --- 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Winter Boating Hours (October - December 17th) --- 7:00 AM - hour before sunset

Launch Fee
$10 resident / $10 non-resident

Inspection Fees & Information

  • $10 up to 12 feet & $12 for over 12 feet
  • Boat & Watercraft Inspection Fee (Canoe, Kayak, Boat)
  • Up to 12’ long - $10 resident / $12 non-resident
  • Over 12’  long - $12 resident / $12 non-resident

Annual Launch Permit
$60 resident / $37.50 non-resident
$15 resident / $22.50 non-resident

Boat Rentals
$10 per hour / $25 for 4 hours

Please note that the process to reserve a spot in the RV Park may have changed since you last visited. If you have questions please call the Parks and Community Services Department. RV Park will be closed Nov. 15th - March 1st & subject to change.

Fees for Services

  • $45 per night plus $2 for up to 2 people
  • $5 extra for each additional adult, per night
  • $2 extra for each additional vehicle, per night
  • $5 extra for dogs
  • Children under 16 - Free
