Rebates and Incentives for Residents


Free Water Conservation Consultation

Are you concerned about high water bills? Would you like to use less water? The City of Watsonville offers customers a free water conservation consultation to help you save water and money. Our trained staff will visit your home or business to evaluate your landscape and indoor water use. We will make specific recommendations tailored to your needs. A home visit typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the landscape. Toilet Rebate Program

Purchase and install a toilet rated to flush at a maximum of 1.28 gallons or less per flush and receive a rebate of up to $100. You must save your receipt and your old toilet. Rebates are not available for replacement of 1.6 gpf or 1.28 gpf toilets. Most toilets installed before 1992 are eligible for the rebate. Fill out the Rebate Request Form and submit to receive your rebate.

Toilet Replacement Program

The City purchases the toilets (two styles) and contracts with Central Coast Energy Services to install them. Old toilets marked 1.6gpf, or 1.28gpf are not eligible for free replacement. Most toilets installed before 1992 are eligible.

This program has no income restrictions. Call Energy Services at 1-888-728-3637 to see if your toilet(s) qualify.

 

Washing Machine Rebate Program

Purchase a new Energy Star Certified washing machine and receive a $100.00 rebate. Instructions on how to receive your rebate are on the application.

 Lawn Replacement Rebate

The City of Watsonville offers a $0.75 per square foot rebate for customers to replace high water use lawns with drought-tolerant, permeable landscaping. The maximum rebate is $500 for residential customers and $1,000 rebate for multi-family, commercial, and institutional customers. You can also receive an additional rebate from the State of California.
