The City of Watsonville has rebate programs available for residents and businesses.

The City of Watsonville does not require existing residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to retrofit exclusively with high efficiency plumbing fixtures upon sale of real property.

The City does offer a Toilet Replacement Program to encourage the replacement of old toilets. All pre-1992 high flow toilets in your home or business will be replaced at no charge. The City purchases the toilets (two styles) and contracts with Central Coast Energy Services to install them. Toilets marked 1.6 gpf (gallons per flush) are not eligible for free replacement.

This program has no income restrictions. Contact Cnetral Coast Energy Services at 1-888-728-3637 to see if your toilets qualify.

The City also offers a Toilet Rebate Program if you would like to choose your own toilet. You purchase and install a new 1.28 gallon or less high efficiency toilet (HET) and receive a rebate of up to $100 per toilet. There is no limit on number of toilets per household or business.

You must save your receipt and your old toilet and fill out the Rebate Request Form to obtain your rebate. Rebates are not available for replacement of another low consumption (1.6gpf) or high efficiency (1.28gpf) toilet. Toilets manufactured after 1991 do not qualify for the rebate.
