Utility Customers Outreach Program strives to provide local residents with the information, tools and motivation with a goal of changing behavior to conserve resources and prevent pollution. Popular outreach includes Multifamily Complex Recycling education, Green Business, Green Gardener Certification, Santa Cruz County Fair Water Awareness Booth and Reusable Bag Campaign. All programs and materials are provided in English and Spanish.

Community groups will learn about the City’s environmental services, local and global environmental issues, and how they can conserve and save money at home. ESL groups can also benefit from these presentations learning new English vocabulary. We bring the program to your site are tailor it to fit the needs of your group. All presentations are between 1 – 1.5 hours long and include an interactive power point, Spanish-bilingual option, handouts, worksheets, free gifts and hands-on activities. Waste Reduction/Recycling—Protect the environment, reduce your waste and save money. Be taught how to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot! Get tips on how to buy without creating so much garbage. Dig dipper and learn- Where does our garbage go? What happens to our recycle? What do I do with my household waste?
Water Conservation—Find out the answers to your questions: Where does Watsonville’s water come from? Is tap water safe to drink? Get tips and free resources to help you conserve water and save money today!
Storm Water Pollution Prevention—Prevent water pollution and protect our environment and your health. Make the land to sea connection. Learn about the giant island of garbage in the middle of the ocean. Don’t be a litter bug!
