What is the TAB?

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) gives teens the opportunity to participate in and influence teen services at the Watsonville Public Library. TAB advises the library on teen interests and trends. TAB members earn community service hours by joining and actively participating on the board.

What does TAB do?

Suggest, plan and help run teen programs
Promote and encourage library use by teens
Provide suggestions or recommendation on materials (books, movies, music) to purchase for the teen collection

Who can join?

Anyone in grades 6-12 is welcome

What kind of time commitment is there?

TAB meets once per month for an hour to discuss issues that relate to teens and the library. In addition, you may choose to spend time each month writing reviews, volunteering for programs, or doing other TAB activities.
To be a member one must…
Be able to attend monthly meetings and be an active participant
Be a responsible library user
Help promote usage of the library by teens
Be willing to participate in TAB discussions and activities
Be able to respect the opinions and ideas of others
Enjoy working with others as a team
Have an interest in the library and improving library services for teens
