rxbottlesOn January 12, 2016, the Watsonville City Council adopted an ordinance to regulate medical cannabis cultivation in the City.  This Ordinance will became effective on February 27, 2016.

Medical cannabis cultivation is allowed with approval of a Special Use Permit by the Planning Commission.  The ordinance limits the square footage of cultivation to 5,000 square feet.  The ordinance also includes separation requirements from schools, churches, parks and residences.

Please note that the City Council amended the Ordinance in June 2016 to limit the number of permits to 6.  The City has received 6 complete applications, and we are not accepting any new applications at this time.
