Third Annual Business Walk
The City of Watsonville and the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce are partnering to hold the Third Annual Watsonville Business Walk on September 26, 2012.
The Business Walk concept has been successfully implemented in cities all over California and has enabled the City and the Chamber of Commerce to learn more about a number of business strengths, needs and provides a unique networking opportunity for the business community.
At the event, a group a private business people, chamber volunteers, City staff and elected officials walk door-to-door in areas to show their appreciation to the business community. The group will ask businesses questions that will help the City and Chamber better understand the overall state of the economy and the local business situation. This is a great opportunity for community members and government officials to meet and interact with local business owners in a positive and meaningful way.
It gives the City and the Chamber the opportunity to assist those businesses that are struggling. When we hear from a business that needs help, we try to steer them to the appropriate resource, and if it is a problem the City or Chamber can solve, we try to solve the problems directly.
Last year over 40 volunteers were able to visit with 120 businesses. With the information from the event we assembled a report which can be downloaded from our Economic Development website www.GrowInWatsonville.com.
For more information call the Redevelopment and Housing Department at 768.3080.
