Teachers Attend The Water Education Workshop

WETworkshop215-2Local Teachers are essential in educating the next generation to appreciate and conserve our water resources. Eighteen (18) local teachers attended the Project WET Workshop sponsored by CREEC, Soquel Creek Water District, and the City of Watsonville.

Curricula Included:

Project WET: interdisciplinary K-12th grade activity guide that specializes in hands-on lessons about water. Revised in full color with online portal to activities and Common Core ELA and Math standards correlations. www.projectwet.org

California EEI: California State Board of Education approved K-12th grade curriculum uses environmental topics to meet current CA History-Social Sci- ence and Science standards. All units also include correlations to Common Core for Language Arts. www.CaliforniaEEI.org

Other Curricula provided:
Watershed Cruzin’: An Activity Guide to Santa Cruz County Watersheds teaches classroom and field-based science activities for 4th-12th grades to help students explore their Santa Cruz County watersheds.
Our Water Works in Santa Cruz County: Through activities, drawings, poetry and math problems, this booklet tells the Santa Cruz County water story. Watershed map included.
