Public Safety Career Day

Update: August 11, 2014 – Our Public Safety Career Day was a huge success! We had 75 applicants for police and fire. The applicants completed an application, physical agility test, personal history questionnaire and finished the day with an oral interview. Thanks to the voters that supported Measure G!

The Watsonville Police Department and the Watsonville Fire Department will be hosting a Public Safety Career Day on August 9, 2014. By appointment only, 100 police applicants will take part in an all-day speed hiring process.

The Fire Department would also like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in becoming a Watsonville Firefighter. Guests will hear about the fire department’s hiring qualifications and testing process. The Fire Department will also be providing tours of their Main fire station and museum. Veterans, minorities, and women are encouraged to participate in the day’s event.

This Public Safety Career Day is made possible by the supporters of Measure G, the half cent sales tax that successfully passed in the June 3 primary election.

When: August 9, 2014
Time: 8:30 a.m. registration
Where: Watsonville Civic Plaza, 275 Main St. 4th floor (6th floor of the parking garage), Community Room.
