Pennsylvania Dr. & Clifford Ave. Operational Improvements

The Watsonville City Council at its February 12th meeting approved to contract with RBF Consulting for design work for the Pennsylvania Dr. and Clifford Ave. Operational Improvements. The picture above is a preliminary concept of the project.

The design for the operational improvements will start this month, February 2013 and completion and approval of Plans and Specifications for Construction bids should go to City Council in June of 2013.

Design will be funded by Traffic Impact fees for the Pennsylvania Corridor. Construction to be funded with Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District (MBUAPCD) AB2766 Grant in the amount of $198,540.

The Pennsylvania Dr. and Clifford Ave. Operational Improvements will include  installation of a modern roundabout. A roundabout would provide a significant improvement over the existing all way stops by improving air quality, reducing delay and improving safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
