Multifamily Recycling
Thanks to a grant from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, Watsonville apartment complex residents have increased their recycling from 17% to 27% of the waste collected! Watsonville residents are enthusiastic about recycling as a means to help the community and the environment. Community members are supporting the City and State’s goals of decreasing the amount of trash going in the landfill. The Multifamily Recycling Program has reached 35 apartment complexes and 1,814 residential units in Watsonville with door to door education and improved recycling capacity. Through the recycling education program in the counties of Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey residents have confident knowledge of what can be recycled. Recycling is now convenient and easy since residential units have been provided with home recycling bins and recycling collection facilities at many sites have improved. You can do your part by recycling more materials at home and work. Refer to labels on your recycle cart or dumpster to to see what items can be recycled. You can also click on one of the following to learn more about the different recycling programs.
