EAA/Kids – Young Eagles… Kids Fly Free Event Extended

KidsFlyFree3Good News!

The EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter 119 has extended their “Kids Fly Free” Program at Watsonville Municipal Airport. The Kids Fly Free program normally runs from May through November and closes for the winter months. It’s great news they will continue to fly the kids for free during the extended months of December, January, February and March!

As of November 9, 2015 the total Young Eagles Flown is an unbelievable 1,956,969.

The Young Eagles Program has been developed by the EAA Aviation Foundation to welcome young people into the world of aviation. Aviation is exciting and vital to our nation’s future. They will experience a safe and enjoyable flight that will give new perspectives on the world and life in general. Participation in the Young Eagle’s Program will help them understand that an individual’s potential is unlimited.

Watsonville based pilots, and many times pilots from surrounding airports, offer their time, skill and aircraft at no charge.

EAA Chapter 119’s registration begins open at 9:00 a.m. and registration ends at noon. Weather permitting pilots fly registered youth (ages 8 to 17) for a short local flight many times completing the day’s flights by early afternoon.
