Downtown Vision is Coming Together – And We Need Your Help!

downtown Watsonville

Watsonville’s beautiful Downtown is an area that has suffered for years.  The presence of Highway 152 on Main Street has been a major contributor to the decline of Downtown.  Recently, CalTRANS has expressed some interest in relinquishing the right-of-way to the City.  As a result, the City has created a small group of Downtown stakeholders to help us establish a new vision for what Downtown Watsonville should be.  This group has been learning about the keys to success by studying downtowns around California, including a recent field trip to Morgan Hill and Gilroy downtown areas.  This group will be coming up with a vision for what they would like Downtown to be as a successful economic driver in Watsonville and milestones for achieving that vision over the next few weeks – but we need your help!

The City, the Downtown Revitalization Group, the Santa Cruz Business Council and Civinomics (a start-up in Santa Cruz that is donating their time to help us succeed) have put together some resources to help us find out more about what residents and visitors to Watsonville would like to see Downtown.  Please visit and provide us with feedback, ask us questions and look for answers!
