Everyone is welcome to share memories and appreciations with others who participated. Come prepared to learn and ask questions.  Connect with strikers and others who are an important part of Watsonville history.  See an unfinished documentary (narrated in part by Mayor Oscar Rios) and meet Eddie Wong, film maker. Sing labor songs including Fidelia Carrisoza’s corrido, have refreshments.

Peter presents his book, followed by a reception. July 1985: workers at Watsonville Canning, primarily women, are offered a new contract: 40% pay cut and drastically reduced health benefits. Our town becomes the scene of an 18 month long, complicated struggle no one expected.
