Buying a House? Check Out our Housing Programs!

The City provides financial assistance to low income homeowners who need help repairing their homes.  The City also helps eligible low income homebuyers to purchase market rate or affordable deed restricted homes.  Funding is provided in the form of a zero-low interest deferred payment loan through the City’s Housing Rehabilitation and First Time Homebuyer Programs.

However, with the high cost of housing in this area even median to above moderate income homebuyers are finding it difficult to afford a home.  As a result, the City Council has reinstated the Down Payment Assistance Program as an alternative resource for those homebuyers unable to qualify for other forms of assistance.  The program is currently funded through the City’s Inclusionary Housing Fund and may provide up to $60,000 to qualified low-above moderate income homebuyers to use toward the purchase of an affordable unit within the City.  The Down Payment Assistance Program is available until June 30, 2017, at which time the City will consider continuing the program in the 2017/2018 budget.  For more information regarding these programs, contact the Community Development Department’s Housing Division at (831) 768-3080 or click here for more information.
