Event Committee to Award $500.00 for Best Poster Design

Watsonville, CA – The Holiday in the Plaza event committee invites high school students in the following schools to enter its first annual poster contest for the Holiday in the Plaza event:  Monte Vista Christian High School, Pajaro Valley High School, Watsonville High School, Renaissance High School, New School, Aptos High School, Academic Vocational Charter Institute, Pacific Coast Charter School, St. Francis High School and CEIBA High School.

High school artists are welcome to submit their concept(s) for an event poster to commemorate the annual event, which will take place in downtown Watsonville on December 8, 2013.  Entries must capture the theme of the event which is “Shop, Dine and Celebrate Locally – Come Rediscover Downtown.”  Artwork should capture the following:  Christmas tree lighting, Snow Day, Santa Claus & Holiday music!  Posters must be drawn vertically on 11” x 17” paper and should be original artwork with only images – no text.

Submissions are due on Wednesday, October 16th by 5:00p.m. at the Watsonville Parks and Community Services’ Customer Service Center at 231 Union Street.    The winning artist will be awarded $500.00
