Men’s Softball Champions

Another exciting season of softball has come to a close at Ramsay Park.  Monday-Thursday night’s 21 teams competed in four divisions. The division champions are J & S Surplus,  Terror Squad, Taqueria Mi Tierra and Just Bangin’.

Teams are placed into a division based on their caliber of play, ranging from novice to the more seasoned veterans.  Keeping the level of competition balanced provides a recreational experience that ensures personal enjoyment for all softball participants.  The top four teams in each division advance to the playoffs.  First place teams receive individual t-shirts, bragging rights and a ticket into the next highest division.  Second place teams receive a “better luck next time” slap on the back and the drive to come back and try again the following season.  This format provides participants with a sportsman-like competitive venue and a healthy source of exercise.  Participants also have an opportunity to increase team building leisure time through positive recreational experiences.

The City’s softball program has two seasons: spring ball is played in April through June and fall ball is played in July through October.  The spring 2014 season is scheduled to start the first week of April.  Here’s looking out to another successful year of softball!
