2014 Watsonville Film Festival

The third edition of the Watsonville Film Festival will be held on March 14 through March 16 at the Mello Center for the Performing Arts.

Under the theme “Dance, Music and Culture on Film,” the WFF will screen more than 15 films over the weekend. It will host a number of directors arriving from Mexico City, Los Angeles, New Mexico, San Diego, and the Bay Area, alongside local professional and student filmmakers.

Feature films include Hecho en Mexico (Made in Mexico), a visually striking film celebrating the diversity of Mexican music and culture; La revolución de los alcatraces (Eufrosina’s Revolution), a moving portrait of an indigenous woman stands up for women’s rights against the macho political structures in Oaxaca; and Go For It!, a high-energy coming-of-age story of a hip-hop dancer struggling to reach her dreams.
