Community Meeting Regarding Transportation Improvement Plan

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is holding an important community meeting regarding the upcoming Transportation Improvement Plan (TRIP), a sales tax measure proposed for the November 2016 ballot.

Wednesday, May 25, 2016
6:30-8:00 p.m.
Civic Plaza Community Room B
275 Main St., 4th Floor

If you can’t make the meeting in Watsonville, you can attend the meeting on 5/26, 6-7:30 p.m. being held at the Simpkins Swim Center, 979 17th Ave., Santa Cruz.

  • Serve as platform to learn more about the 2016 Transportation Improvement Plan and ask questions
  • Facilitate sharing about the diverse transportation needs of the community
  • Provide materials about the 2016 Transportation Improvement Plan that can be shared with co-workers, friends, family, neighbors and other organizations

The measure would provide over $700,00/year for local Watsonville streets. That’s more than any other new funding source we will see for many years.

It would also provide funding for special transportation services for seniors, and would fund widening of Highway 1.

You can learn more about the Transportation Improvement Plan by visiting the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission website here.
